Rest in Peace, our Precious Pye!

          Pye,

I will miss your silly, funny face, so excited every morning and evening... when it was time for you to get your Chicken Gravy... waiting impatiently in your basket... where you had run to when I came into the kitchen.

I still look there every morning...but you are no longer waiting there.

          Gawd!!...I miss you, Pye!!!

These are just a few of the cards and notes we got.
If yours is not here, please do not be offended.
          It was deeply appreciated,
but I could not put ALL of them on the page.

          HUGS!...Thank you ALL!

          Happenings at Rainbow Bridge:

Ferrets impatiently hiding along the sides of the Rainbow Bridge.
The air is charged with excitement.
As Pye starts to cross over they all tingle with anticipation.
A few chortles and the soft fluttering sounds of tails gently wagging
          against the bridge are heard.
Pye is intrigued by the sounds not knowing what awaits him.
Pye stops, eyes wide, and listens - but now all is silent.
As Pye crosses over to the other side
there is an explosion of furry bodies all dancing, jumping, rolling,
and playing, drawing Pye into their inner circle.
The love and joyfulness in their little hearts envelops Pye.
          Soon all settles down
and the "oldsters" explain the waiting process to Pye.
Pye is ever so gently groomed by the others
to ease the pain of loss of living companions.
Pye is consumed by their love.
They are all one big loving family anxiously awaiting the next newcomer
and in the end, their own humans.

          Warm gentle hugs.

          Hi all

A little guy named PopPye came in today. He waz met by OldGuy, LWG, Charlie, Narmy, Sonneybuns, Geezer, Tunees, Dweezil and a new arrival Opie. I made introductions all around to make sure everyone knew everyone. Then it waz down to da gossip and news. They sat and talked for some time. Everyone waz interested in da happening back home and listened intently. They had to stop by da Fruit Bar to grap a snack and then off to explore and see all da sights and attractions. I later saw everyone over at da Tube Park running through da practice tubes for da fun of it. Everyone waz chasing everyone else and it waz more like a free for all. They seemed to have a lot of fun at it though. PopPye said to send lots of luv along with kisses and hugs to mommy.

I am off to da races. Gotta go.

AND THE LORD CREATED THE FERRET

And the Lord stretched forth His arms and created the animals of the Earth. And He saw that it was good.

And as He gazed upon His creation, He felt something furry touching his foot.

As he looked down, He saw a small face look upon His glory.

The Lord bent down to pick up this wiggly little wonder.

The creature peered into the face of the Lord, and the Lord smiled and said,

"You, little one, are one of my finest creations. Man shall name you "Ferret" but, I shall call you "Love".

As the Lord spoke, the little creature listened intently.

Then the Lord lifted the little furry creature up to His Father in Heaven, and said, "Little one, I am giving you to mankind, for man will need you to bring love into his heart.

The little creature snuggled all the while in the arms of the Lord, and as the Lord bent to return the creature to the ground, He said,

"Your life on Earth will be short, but during that time, you will have touched many hearts bringing much love and happiness to all you meet, and when that time is over, I will call you home to be with me."

When the Lord finished speaking, the furry little creature chattered and jumped, as he knew what the Lord had said to him.

The Lord smiled, shifting His eyes towards the heavens and said, "It is good."

I looked up last night and what did I see?
A long slinky shape dancing and smiling at me.
I asked where he was going, but he wouldn't say.
Only that he was going to dook and play.
Come little one, I cajoled, tell me who you are.
He chuckled, twirled and said a new bright star.
I begged to know this special star's name.
He chortled, then replied, I have but one claim to fame.
My Mom loved me every single day.
I asked, is that all you want to say?
He just turned with a wink and left me to stare.
Disappeared into a multicolored mist and went elsewhere.

May Pye dance forever in your heart.

          THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together ...
